E-scooter rider in critical condition following crash in Hessle

The rider is believed to have lost control and fell from the scooter

Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Hessle at the weekend (Saturday, 5 April).

The force says at around 3.25pm a 22-year-old man was travelling on an e-scooter along Swanland Road towards the Beverley Road roundabout, when for reasons not yet clear, the rider is believed to have lost control and fell from the scooter.

Emergency services were deployed and the rider, a man, was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment, he remains in a critical condition.

Police are now urging anyone who was in the area around the time and may have saw the vehicle prior to the collision, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact them.
