In the last 24 hours three 13 year old have been arrested in relation to disorder seen in Hull last weekend.

That's now 61 people by Humberside Police - with 22 of them charged and 3 sentencing already handed down.

The force called last Saturday's scenes "utterly shameful" but said there was no disorder seen yesterday while more protests were held .

Humberside Police Deputy Chief Constable Dave Marshall said: “We were aware of potential, planned protests for today and we have ensured we have been well resourced with a highly visible police presence across the city.

“Specialist and Neighbourhood officers have been on patrol to offer reassurance and to deal with any emerging issues quickly and efficiently should they have occurred.

“I can confirm that whilst two protests did take place, they were carried out peacefully and there was no disorder before, during, or after these events. No offences were committed, and no arrests were made.

“A third planned protest within the city was cancelled by the organiser and no participants attended.

“The scenes we saw in our city last Saturday (3 August) were utterly shameful, however, we have taken robust action over the last week to get those who committed offences against our community off our streets.

“A total of 61 people have now been arrested, with 22 charged, and three already convicted for a total of seven years and eight months for their involvement in the violent disorder.

“I am incredibly grateful to see how our communities have pulled together to support our officers on the ground, along with other goodwill gestures which have all been much appreciated by officers, partners, and local businesses since the event of last weekend.

“We are seeing a return to normality within Hull and across our force area. However, I understand that communities and businesses may continue to feel nervous, but I would like to offer reassurance and thank people for returning to the city and supporting businesses and events following last week’s disorder.

“We will continue to pursue those that became involved in last week’s events, and I would urge anyone with any information that may help with our ongoing investigation into the Hull disorder, to please contact our non-emergency number 101 quoting Operation Executive.
