Humberside Police tell us "more arrests are to come" following widespread violence in Hull on Saturday - with twenty five already arrested and being questioned.

1\1 police officers have been injured too - some even needing hospital treatment.

ACC Thom McLoughlin said: “The scenes we witnessed yesterday in Hull were utterly abhorrent and there is no place for this mindless behaviour in our city.

“These individuals have caused damage and fear, showing no compassion or respect and without a single thought being given as to the damage they have caused to the wellbeing of our community.

"They were intent on acting like thugs and there is no place for them across Hull or the Humberside force area."

“We are now calling for calm and I appeal to people to please avoid speculating online, as to do so may add fuel to further unease and ultimately lead to more outbreaks of violence."

Police are also investigating a video online showing groups targeting a man in a silver BMW in the city during the disorder on the 3rd August.

The driver and passengers were uninjured during the incident.

Police tell us no-one was stabbed in the incident either, despite reports circulating online.
