An investigation is underway after a woman died following a crash on the A46.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving two cars and a van near Screveton around 10.30pm on Saturday (23 November).

A 49-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remained shut southbound while investigations took place but this closure has now been lifted.

Officers want to hear from anyone who can assist with information or relevant dashcam footage.

Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with this woman’s family and loved ones at an incredibly distressing time.

“They will be supported by specially trained officers.

“Our investigation into the causes of the collision is at a very early stage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to get in touch.

“I would also like to thank motorists for their patience while road closures were in place.”
