Police in Derbyshire are questioning a woman in connection with reports of a bomb hoax in Wirksworth.

They were called just before 3 pm to reports a woman had entered a restaurant on Market Place - where a threat was made about a bomb.

A cordon was put in place and a number of roads were shut as a precautionary measure.

After searches, officers established the threat was a hoax.

A woman in her 30's from Derby was arrested on suspicion of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance and for making a bomb hoax.

She remains in custody.

Derbyshire Police say their officers will be providing reassurance in the area over the next few days.
