A teenager has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Nottingham earlier this month, leaving him with "life-altering injuries".

The attack, during which the man was repeatedly stabbed, happened at around 6:30pm in Top Valley on 16 July.

Nottinghamshire Police said: "While the man’s injuries didn’t turn out to be life-threatening, they were life-altering and required surgery."

Officers tracked a suspect to his home in Lincoln where they arrested the 17-year-old boy. They also seized two zombie knives and a quantity of drugs.

Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This would’ve been a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was left with multiple stab wounds.

“He was left with nasty, life-altering injuries that required surgery as a result, although thankfully they weren’t even more severe.

“Our policing teams have been conducting extensive inquires since this happened and are pleased to have now made an arrest as part of our investigation.

“We’re grateful to our policing colleagues across the border in Lincolnshire for assisting us with this.

“I’d like to emphasise, however, that our investigation is still very much ongoing, so we’d again appeal to anyone who knows anything to share it with us immediately.”

The teenager is being questioned on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.

He is also being held on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

Information can be reported to the police by calling 101 and quoting incident 632 of 16 July 2025, while Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
