Five people have been arrested after police stung a car on the M1 at the weekend.
It follows reports of two break-ins at a house in Bilborough at the weekend. The first happened on Saturday morning (14 June) when a group of people wearing balaclavas and carrying crowbars were reportedly trying to get into the house. They fled before officers arrived.
In fewer than 24 hours, at 4:35am on Sunday (15 June) multiple people wearing hoods were seen trying to get into the same property.
Substantial amounts of cannabis were discovered growing on the site, while electricity was also found to have been bypassed.
At 5:15am that day, officers tracked down a vehicle they had linked to the two incidents at the Bilborough house and deployed stingers to pop the car's tyres, bringing it to a stop on the M1, just shy of junction 26.
Detective Sergeant Kate Hyde, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our policing teams did a great job linking these two separate incidents together before taking action in quick time.
“Their collective efforts ultimately resulted in us tracking down and arresting five people we suspect were involved in an aggravated burglary over the weekend.
“They were also able to find and dismantle a substantial cannabis grow within a house, which was the target of said break-in.
“While these two discoveries came 24 hours apart, tallied together, they represented a really good result.”
Five men - aged 18, 22, 23, 25, and 26 - were all detained on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
The 25-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and driving without valid insurance.
