Gaffer Nuno EspÃrito Santo said: "It means a lot.
"It's a huge moment for us as a club, a huge moment in our journey."
On Ryan Yates' scoring the winning penalty, the Portuguese manager said: "It means a lot, especially for him, a young lad from the club- the club captain.
"He's spent his whole life here, and to take the final penalty to go to Wembley- it's remarkable."
Meanwhile, Nuno also confirmed Chris Wood's injury is 'not looking good', after the striker was ruled out of the match this weekend.
The talisman striker suffered a knock to his hip while on international duty for New Zealand on Monday.
The gaffer said: "It was a big impact on his hip and it is very painful."
It's unclear whether he'll be available for Forest's Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Tuesday.
