Three masked men broke into a Loughborough home on Sunday night (12 Oct) and threatened a woman before stealing jewellery.

The woman heard a noise in the house on Byron Street Extension at around 8:30pm and went into the hallway where she found three masked men. They threatened her with a screwdriver and pushed her down before stealing jewellery.

Detective Sergeant Parm Kang said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and deeply concerning. Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area and urged anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in Byron Street Extension around 8.30pm yesterday to get in touch.

“Did you see or hear anyone or any vehicles in the area around that time? Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help with our investigation.”

It's believed the suspects were last seen driving towards Derby Road and the town centre.

The victim sustained minor injuries but didn't require hospital treatment.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 7693 Anita Vaughan on 101 or report via www.leics.police.uk, quoting crime number 25*600393.
