Police have arrested a fourth person in connection to a murder in Mansfield.

Anthony Beardsley died a short time after he was found by paramedics at a flat in Mappleton Drive on Tuesday (16th Dec) where a serious assault had taken place.

Two 20-year-olds and a 22-year-old were arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of the 61-year-olds murder. They have since been released on bail.

A fourth man, 33, was arrested on Wednesday (17th Dec) and has also been released on bail.

Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, who is overseeing the investigation, said:

“Our sympathies remain with Tony’s family and our specially trained officers will continue to support them.

“While our investigation is progressing, we are still urging anyone with information – no matter how insignificant it may seem – to get in touch with us without delay.”
