Man seriously injured after assault in Leicester

Police say the victim was chased down Lansdowne Road on Tuesday (17/12)

A man's been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in South Leicester last night (17/12).

The victim, who's in his 40s, is reported to have heard a disturbance inside a property on Clifton Road around 6.15pm, when he went outside to look, he was confronted by three men.

He was then reportedly chased into Lansdown Road, where he was assaulted with a baseball bat.

Police say the victim then tried to flag down a passing driver, whos car was also attacked - although no-one in the car was injured.

The victim was taken to hospital suffering from a head injury and fractures to his leg. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Leicestershire Police say no arrests have been made yet, but they're searching for three men in their late 20s to early 30s in connection with the incident.
