Man charged over three house fires in Ashby-de-la-Zouch

A 50-year-old man has been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life after a series of house fires in Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Friday morning.

He has also been charged with dangerous driving.

The three fires - in Holywell Avenue, Prestop Drive and Clifton Drive - were believed on Friday to be linked.

A teenager was treated in hospital for burn injuries and smoke inhalation, while a teenager nd a woman also received treatment for inhaling smoke.

None of the injuries were described as life-changing or life-threatening.
