Police remain in Clifton this morning after an attack with an air weapon.
Armed officers responded to reports a man was being chased by another man possessing the weapon on Southchurch Drive Junction yesterday afternoon.
The victim, 44, sustained a minor injury to his finger.
A 49 year old man is in custody having been arrested in Varney Road shortly after the incident.
Nottinghamshire Police Chief Inspector, Neil Humphris, said:
“This would have been a distressing incident for the member of the public who reported this and anyone else who witnessed what happened.
“We take all reports of anyone possessing a weapon extremely seriously and we immediately deployed armed officers to the scene of the incident to ensure people were safe.
“We would like to hear from anyone else who witnessed what happened, but particularly anyone that saw a man in a grey hooded top and black trousers chasing a man with a dog.”
