Arrest after reports of man carrying axe near Forest Recreation Ground
A taxi man's tyres were slashed
A man has been arrested after a taxi drivers tyres were slashed following reports of a man carrying an axe near Forest Recreation Ground.
Armed officers were deployed after the incident at around 8.20am.
A 22-year-old man was arrested a short time later in Mansfield Road, in Nottingham city centre.
The suspect is being questioned on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a Class B drug.
Chief Inspector Jon Scurr, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Incidents such as this are totally unacceptable and will always be met with a robust response.
“I am pleased we have been able make a swift arrest and our investigation will now continue.”
