A man has been jailed after raping, strangling, and using controlling behaviour on two women in Leicester.

Randy Ayor committed his crimes over several months from 2023, and was arrested when his victims - who did not know each other - reported him in 2024.

Ayor, 32, met his first victim at a nightclub in the city in 2023, and raped her over several months. In one incident, he strangled her to the point she thought she was going to lose consciousness.

His second victim, who he also met in 2023, reported that he had raped and strangled her. She also reported him for controlling behaviour when he took her phone and dictated with whom she could socialise.

Ayor also became angry when she spoke with other men and tried to discourage her from seeing family at Christmas.

Following a trial, Ayor was found guilty of rape, sexual assault by penetration, and intentional strangulation.

He was also found guilty of engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour, false imprisonment, and battery relating to the second victim.

Detective Constable Lauren Brown was the officer in the case. She said: “It’s apparent from the accounts given by both victims that Ayor is a dangerous individual who is prepared to use violence and controlling behaviour towards women for his own sexual gratification.

“The information they both gave as enquiries progressed and during the trial – in which they had to re-live their ordeals – was crucial in securing a conviction.

“I hope that they and the wider community can take some reassurance from the fact he is now facing the consequences of his actions by way of a prison sentence.”

He has been jailed for 25 years and handed a 20-year retraining order.
