There has been a large police presence in Ilkeston overnight (Saturday 20 April) following an incident at a property on Hartington Place, due to concerns for the safety of a man.
Police will remain in the area as a precaution for the safety of the public.
A police officer was taken to hospital earlier in the evening for treatment for an injury which is not life threatening.
We can confirm that no officers or other members of the public are currently being held hostage.
