Five arrested in connection with alleged stabbing in Nottingham city centre street

Officers have arrested five people after a fight broke out in Wilford Street.

The incident happened just before 4am this morning (Sunday 23 June).

Officers were called to the scene after reports of a fight involving several people. Two people had sustained stab injuries and were taken to hospital.

A cordon is in place while a thorough investigation takes place.

Five men, aged 24, 32, 35, 37, and 40 have been arrested for violent disorder.

Detective Inspector Lisa Jones said:

“Officers are carrying out an extensive and thorough investigation to determine what has happened. We believe the fight broke out as people were leaving a private event at the I-Club.

“A cordon is in place while we investigate the incident. There is absolutely no place for violence on our streets and we are determined to ensure those responsible are dealt with.”
