Derbyshire Fire and Rescue say they are starting to demolish the property that was damaged in an explosion on Eden Street in Alvaston on Wednesday night (10th June).
A man suffered serious injuries in the explosion and remains in hospital.
Emergency services said the demolition is expected to take several days but will help support their investigation into the cause of the explosion.
Thirteen properties and their residents remain impacted by the incident. All other residents have been able to return to their homes.
Eden Street remains closed.
Detectives at Derbyshire Police said they are eager to hear from anyone with any information, including anyone that witnessed the explosion.
Officers would also like to speak to the driver of a black Ford Fiesta which was seen to drive past the property shortly before the explosion as they may have information which could help with the investigation.
