A man has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a fellow intruder during a break-in, prosecutors said.

Mason Meanwell, 25, from Newark, Nottinghamshire, has been charged over the death of 22-year-old Taylor Green during a burglary in Tuxford on February 25, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

The householder will not face any charges in relation to the death, the CPS added.

Rachael Dean, head of the CPS East Midlands Complex Casework Unit, said: "The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute Mason Meanwell with manslaughter following a police investigation into his involvement in an aggravated burglary that ended in the death of Taylor Green, one of the intruders.

"Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.

"We have worked closely with Nottinghamshire Police as they carried out their investigation."

Meanwell is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday.
