A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class B drugs.

This is after a sandwich bag filled with cannabis was found by Nottinghamshire Police during after a driver was pulled over.

The car was eventually stopped at Wollaton Street when the car stopped again on Saturday after 7pm.

PC Ken Tinley, of Nottinghamshire Police’s knife crime team, said:

“While our first point of call while we’re out on patrol is to try and detect knife crime offences, we always keep our eyes out for other offences too.

“That includes drug activity, as there does tend to be links between people involved in this type of criminality and knife-carrying.

“While that was obviously not the case on this occasion, our tactic of making use of plain-clothed officers did lead to us making this cannabis discovery.

“It really should go without saying, but there is no excuse for anyone to ever deal drugs in our communities – whether that be Class A, B, or C drugs.

“Any time we can take drugs off the streets is undoubtedly a good thing, so it’s pleasing to have made this discovery and arrested a suspect.”
