More improvement works are on their way for Dorchester South train station.

A larger ticket hall and waiting room, and new enclosed shelters are planned for both platforms.

There's also set to be enhanced lighting and landscaping, including a realignment of the access ramp on the forecourt.

West Dorset MP, Chris Loder, has been campaigning for 'continual improvements' at the station. He said:

“I’m glad to have secured these improvements for Dorchester South Station, which will see greater accessibility for all passengers. I’ve been working with SWR and Network Rail to improve the County Town of Dorset’s station, and I look forward to completion in July.

“I’m continuing to press the Department for Transport about getting a lift at the station, and I will be sure to provide an update on any further developments as and when they happen.”
