A car's crashed into the outdoor seating area of a Weymouth seafront bar, with two people injured.

Emergency services are on the scene at The Nook this lunchtime (Friday 28th June).

A canopy outside the building has been knocked down.

Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital following the collision.

The car has since been removed from the scene.

The canopy structure is being taken away after being knocked down earlier today (28th June)

In a statement, Dorset Police said:

"Dorset Police received a report at 12.23pm on Friday 28 June 2024 that a car collided with an outside seating area at The Nook bar on The Esplanade in Weymouth.

"Officers are in attendance with the fire and ambulance services. Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital for treatment.

"The Esplanade has been closed in the area to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident."

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue say two crews from Weymouth attended.

They secured the metal canopy and set up a safety cordon, leaving the scene at around 1.20pm.
