Firefighters rescue sheep from Cumbria rooftop
The turnout information was “sheep stuck on a two-storey roof”
Firefighters in Penrith had a 'baa-zarre' day, after crews were called out to rescue a sheep and three lambs from the roof of a house (9 June).
It's after they escaped from a field nearby.
Penrith Fire Station sent a crew to the two-storey property in Graham Street, just before 11:00am.
The service said "crews used ladders and reaching poles, and along with a local farmer who came to assist, we safety got the sheep down and returned them to the field they’d come from".
It sparked a light-hearted debate on social media, over how the sheep ended up on the roof.
Some of the comments included: "Ewe turned a baaaa'd situation into a good one" and "Bet they were feeling a bit sheepish afterwards".
