A police officer has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman while on duty.

Warwickshire Police Pc Daniel Gentles, who is suspended from duty, is alleged to have committed the assault by intentionally touching the woman over clothing in May last year.

The 20-year-old response officer, who was based in the north of the county, entered a not guilty plea at Warwick Crown Court in Leamington Spa on Thursday and was granted conditional bail.

Adjourning the case, Judge Matthew Walsh told Gentles: "Your trial is going to be on the 23rd of September, that's a fixed date, for three days."

A pre-trial review has also been listed for August 30.
