Section 60 powers withdrawn in Rugby
They were put in place over concerns of people carrying weapons.
In the early hours of this morning Warwickshire Police withdrew a notice which gave them extra powers to stop and search people in part of Rugby.
Yesterday evening a Section 60 notice was issued in Rugby because officers had specific concerns about people carrying weapons in the area.
The Notice authorises any Constable in uniform in the locality to exercise the powers under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to search any person or any vehicle for offensive weapons.
At 12.50am this morning police no longer felt the powers were required, so the notice was withdrawn.
They've thanked everyone for their understanding.
