Nuneaton man jailed for 13 Years after raping two women
Thanks to the courage of the survivors, 18 year old Joshua Fletcher was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict
A Nuneaton man who denied raping two women has been sentenced to 13 years in prison following a trial at Warwick Crown Court.
Joshua Fletcher, 18, of Milby Drive, was convicted of five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault after an eight-day trial in February. He had denied all allegations during police interviews.
Thanks to the courage of the survivors, Fletcher was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict.
On Tuesday 15 April, he was sentenced to 13 years in custody, with a further five years on licence after his release. He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detective Constable Dolman, who led the investigation, said:
“We’re incredibly happy that Fletcher has been held to account.
“He told lie after lie in interview, but the bravery of the two women helped us build a case strong enough that the jury saw through him.
“This verdict sends a clear message to survivors of sexual abuse: we will listen, we will support, and we will act.”
