A woman who caused a fatal crash while over the drink-drive limit has been jailed for two years.
Chloe Bannister, 29, of Chaytor Drive, Nuneaton, lost control of her Mercedes GL50 on a bend along Coppice Lane, near Tamworth, on 15 November 2023, crashing into a fence.
Her passenger, a 33-year-old man from Cheshire, suffered serious injuries and tragically died the following day.
Bannister had previously pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink. She was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Friday, and was also banned from driving for five years.
Detective Constable Sam Bates of Warwickshire Police said:
“Chloe Bannister’s irresponsible and reckless actions on the night of the collision have left a family heartbroken with the loss of their son, brother and uncle.”
