Murder investigation launched in Coventry after man attacked in street
A man was attacked in Waterloo Street on Tuesday.
A murder investigation has been launched after a man found with serious head injuries in Coventry has now sadly died.
The man - aged in his 40s - was attacked in Waterloo Street at around 4am on Tuesday.
He was taken to hospital but tragically died earlier today.
Offices have passed on their thoughts with his loved ones and are offering them support.
A 24-year-old man was charged with wounding last night and appeared before magistrates this morning.
He was remanded into custody ahead of a crown court hearing on Monday.
Police say they'll "be reviewing the charge in connection with the Crown Prosecution Service."
Detective Inspector Phil Poole, from our homicide team, said: "A man has tragically lost his life and we'll be doing all we can to establish exactly what happened and why.
"We're keen to hear from anyone with information so we can get answers for his family."
