A man's been charged, after an assault in Rugby.

Max Gall, 23 from Lodge Road in Rugby, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been remanded until his trial and will appear in Warwick Crown Court on 6 June 2024.

This follows an incident from Sunday (5 May), during which a man was allegedly assaulted with a bladed weapon on Trussell Way, before the offender reportedly made off from the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance services to treat their injuries.

The alleged incident was isolated and police say there is no wider risk to the public.
