Live firearm recovered off the streets of Coventry
It's after the public spotted it.
Officers in Coventry have recovered a live firearm after it was spotted by members of the public.
Police were called after a bag containing the gun was seen in some bushes in Bell Green.
When officers arrived, they confirmed it was a live weapon and recovered it for further examination.
Enquiries are now ongoing to find out how the gun ended up where it was found, and who might have left it there.
It is believed the weapon was left there by its previous "owners" and anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area on 7 and 8 March is asked to contact the force.
