Leamington Spa park paddling pool shut after just two weeks
Council blames technical issues for the closure at Victoria Park
Youngsters hoping to take a dip in a Warwickshire park's paddling pool are being left disappointed as the temperatures continue to sizzle.
The site at Victoria Park in Leamington Spa - which only re-opened following a revamp two weeks ago - has been closed.
Bosses at Warwick District Council say the site's been hit with technical issues, which mean it'll be out of action until after the summer.
A second paddling pool at St Nicholas Park in Warwick is also out of action, as the revamp there's taken longer than expected to complete due to the complex nature of the pool.
The council's statement in full:
"It is with much sadness that Warwick District Council has made the difficult decision to close the paddling pool at Victoria Park, Leamington Spa with immediate effect. This is due to a range of technical issues.
"Currently we don’t expect the pool to reopen for the rest of the school summer holidays.
"The Council understands the disappointment that this will cause especially given the fine weather and is working hard with the contractors to fix the issues.
"Due to the more complex nature of the construction of the St Nicholas Park paddling pool and ongoing challenges with onsite water levels, this facility will take a little longer to complete. The Council’s teams are working hard to resolve these issues, and further updates will be shared over the coming weeks."
