A charity who support and empower young people across Cornwall is celebrating it's 50th anniversary.

Young People Cornwall, founded in 1974, aim to create opportunities, promote positive mental health, and offer guidance and resources to empower young individuals across the Duchy.

Nick Smith, CEO of YPC, said: "Predominantly, we're talking about young people with mental health issues, anxiety, low mood, depression and then children who are quite far removed from education, employment and training and equally victims of violence or abuse - all manner of issues.

"We have some fantastic stories from young people about the difference that we made in helping them find employment or navigate lives challenges."

Through the charity's programmes, initiatives, and support networks, they aim to foster resilience, well-being, and personal development among our youth, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to thrive.

Grace Bennett, 25, who's had support from the charity said: "I think it's great because as a young person you don't feel heard.

"They want young people to speak their minds, hear their voices and be confident. To be happy to ask for help."
