Concerns are being raised - amid a recent vote of no confidence being sparked at Truro and Penwith College.

It follows reports of job cuts being on the cards, with staff now calling on bosses at the College to stop the threat of compulsory losses.

The ballot was organised by the National Education Union - alongside other unions on campus - and it's reported that they have lost the confidence in the Principal and senior management team.

It's over their management of college finances.

Truro and Penwith College Principal Martin Tucker said: “We acknowledge the concerns raised by the National Education Union and the outcome of the recent vote. We recognise that this is a difficult time for many staff, and we remain fully committed to meaningful consultation throughout the reorganisation process.

“The College’s primary focus continues to be on delivering high-quality education for our students, while ensuring long-term financial sustainability. These are complex and challenging decisions, but we are actively engaging with union representatives and other stakeholders as part of the formal consultation process.

“We are continuing to explore all possible measures to mitigate redundancies wherever we can and encourage all parties to continue engaging constructively as we work towards solutions that protect the future of the College, its students, and staff.”

We have contacted the National Education Union for a statement.
