A woman from the Lizard who died in an A30 crash has been remembered as a 'beautiful, loyal and funny' woman by her family.

Clare Laskey, 47, from The Lizard in Cornwall, passed away at the scene following the two-vehicle collision at around 10pm involving a silver Kia Ceed and a Scania articulated lorry on the A30 at Whiddon Down.

"Forever in our hearts"

The woman, named locally as Clare Laskey, died in a crash at Whiddon Down near Okehampton in Devon on Tuesday 15 October, where a car, which she was a passenger of, collided with a lorry.

In a statement on Facebook, the family wrote:

"Clare’s family and Thurstan are devastated by the loss of our beautiful, loyal and funny daughter, partner, sister and aunt, in such tragic circumstances. She will be sadly missed by us all including her friends and the amazing Lizard community.

“Forever in our hearts”

A 60-year-old male also involved in the collision was taken to hospital for his injuries but has since been released.

An investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst this took place.

Police would still like anyone with any relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation to get in touch.
