Surfer airlifted from Newquay beach

A person has been airlifted from a beach in Newquay in Cornwall.
It happened yesterday afternoon (Monday 31 March) at 12:53.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team say they were tasked to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust & Cornwall Air Ambulance with a casualty at North Fistral.
The Coastguard have thanked the public and off duty RNLI lifeguards who they say provided invaluable assistance prior to the ambulance service arrival.
Staff at Fistral Beach Complex we're also on hand to assist.
The Coastguard also wished the casualty, believed to be a surfer, a speedy recovery.
