Street patrol group in Falmouth are calling for more volunteers
Feet on the Street offer support to people on nights out in the town
A voluntary group patrolling the streets of Falmouth to keep people safe on nights out is calling on more people to join.
Feet on the Street is a group of volunteers from church groups across the town who aim to provide extra support and care at night.
They have been running street patrols since Freshers Week in September and so far have 25 volunteers who hit the streets between 8pm and 3am on Saturdays.
Laura Gallagher is from the charity: "We do see some vulnerable people on the streets and I think the fact that we're there can make a difference to the outcome of that whole night for particular people."
The charity offer things like water and sweets to people in need - they also carry a basic first aid kit.
Chair Tracy Lyall said: "Some people ask if it's scary out there and in no way have we ever felt intimidated or scared. We're so welcomed by the people that are out there generally."
