Schillonian III: final season return delayed again
Bosses have given a further update
Bosses at Isles of Scilly Travel have given another update on the Schillonian III.
The launch of the vessel for its final season has once again been delayed - after issues were detected during post-layup sea trials.
It follows the news of a delayed launch earlier this week.

In an update, issued on March 20, bosses said: "Following our previous update on Tuesday, we regret to inform you that Scillonian III will not return to service on Friday, 21st March 2025, as initially expected.
"During post-layup sea trials, an issue was identified with the gearbox to intermediate shaft coupling, which includes the shaft brake. To address this, further work has been required, including verifying the port-side propeller shaft alignment.
"This work is ongoing with A&P Falmouth."
In a progress update, they have confirmed that a new brake shaft has been manufactured, and now the coupling bolt holes are currently being precision-machined.
As of yesterday, six holes have been completed, with the remaining two expected to be finished by this morning.
Once this is done, the final fitting of bolts will take place, then the vessel will undertake an extended sea trial this afternoon before it can return to service.
