Police attend 'caravans blowing' near Newquay

A yellow weather warning for wind is in force until 6pm this evening across Cornwall

Devon and Cornwall Police is currently at Holywell Bay, near Newquay, following reports of "caravans blowing".

The force has said officers are at the scene dealing with the incident and one person has been treated.

People have been warning of a "mini tornado", as a yellow weather warning for wind is in force until 6pm this evening (Thursday 23 January) across Cornwall.

There are also warnings forecast tomorrow (Friday 24 January) ahead of the arrival of Storm Eowyn.

There are various videos and reports online showing strong winds causing disruption across Cornwall.

People are being warned of travel disruption and power outages.

The Met Office has issued advice on how to prepare your home, garden or business for the weather, including ensuring you are insured, checking your roof and clearing your guttering.
