A number of homes have been evacuated in Penryn after a car crashed into a house.

Police say they were called to Helston Road at 8.55am on Friday 20th September.

The fire service was also called, and the road was closed.

Gas engineers have also been at the scene to make it safe, as the collision caused a gas leak.

A man in his thirties has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, and police have thanked people there for their patience.
