Appeal for donations after homes destroyed in devastating blaze in Launceston
Fire crews said: "This was a major incident with huge emergency response"
An appeal for clothing for families who lost everything in a Launceston fire has been put out by Launceston Community Fire Station.
It follows a major response over the weekend.
Padstow Community Fire Station remained on the scene - dampening down and monitoring hotspots.
Sharing information about the incident on their social media page yesterday, Launceston Community Fire Station said: "Both appliances from Launceston Community Fire Station were mobilised to reports of a residential fire in the outskirts of town.
"On arrival, assistance message, make pumps 4. Delabole Community Fire Station & Bodmin Community Fire Station were mobilised to the incident. Shorty followed by a further assistance message, make pumps 6. Liskeard Community Fire Station & Holsworthy Fire Station were mobilised.
"Additional resources included ALP from Crownhill Fire Station and BA support from St Austell Community Fire Station as well as a water carrier from Liskeard Community Fire Station.
"This was a major incident with huge emergency response.
"A devastating outcome for the occupants of the properties who have lost all their belongings but most importantly all safe and accounted for.
"Thank you to Bude Community Fire Station for covering Launceston and attending other incidents while we was busy.
"Padstow Community Fire Station will remain on scene for the day dampening down and monitoring hotspots."
