Paradise Park seeks to protect its birds from avian flu
Biosecurity measures have been introduced after bird flu was found on a nearby farm.
After bird flu was found on a nearby poultry farm in Cornwall this week, Paradise Park in Hayle says it's taking measures to prevent it spreading to its birds.
The attraction says it's now in a bird flu surveillance zone, so it's brought in biosecurity measures to protect its birds from the virus.
There are 1200 birds at the park, many of which are rare and endangered. The park say they're part of vital conservation breeding and reintroduction programmes worldwide.
The park's flamingos are also no longer on display, and are under cover for the moment.
Curator David Woolcock said “A big thank goes to the amazing Keepers and staff who are working extremely hard behind the scenes and on days off to get the vital additional biosecurity measures in place.
