Cornish woman charged over Just Stop Oil soup throwing protest
Phillipa Green from Penryn is due before magistrates tomorrow
A Cornish Just Stop Oil protestor has been charged with criminal damage after soup was thrown over two Van Gogh paintings at the National Gallery in London.
24 year-old Phillipa Green from Penryn will appear at Westminster Magistrates on Monday (30 September) alongside a man and a woman from West Yorkshire.
It follows an incident on Friday where two of the Dutch master artist's Sunflowers works had soup thrown over them - just hours after two Just Stop Oil protestors were jailed for doing the same thing in 2022.
The group which is calling for an end to the use of fossil fuels says the latest demonstration was to show solidarity with the women locked-up over the 2022 protest.
Gallery bosses say the paintings targeted on Friday were unharmed.
