Fire crews called to 'out of control bonfire' in Bodmin

Fire crews were called out to an overgrown field in Bodmin, which had caught alight yesterday.

It happened after a bonfire had gotten out of control, with the teams continuing to monitoring the area today (19 March) to make sure it doesn't spread again.

In an update, bosses at Cornwall Fire and Rescue confirmed: "One crew from Bodmin attended a call reports of an overgrown field on fire.

"Crews attended and confirmed a bonfire had gotten out of control.

"The fire had spread to multiple areas within the field and a tree.

"Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fires.

"Advice was given to the persons in attendance and they were advised to monitor the area for the next 24 hours.

"There are no more details available on this incident."
