Devon and Cornwall Police have been searching the coast following reports of 'millions of pounds of drugs' washing up on a Cornish beach.

Officers attending following a number of reports of packages containing suspected drugs on the shoreline.

Officers attended and recovered several packages which have been sent off for forensic review.

The public can expect to see further activity around the Cornish coastline in the coming days as officers continue to carry out enquiries into the incident.

A spokesperson from the force said:

"Police have completed searches along the coast between Padstow and Holywell Bay, Cornwall over the weekend as part of an ongoing investigation and recovered a number of items from the area.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their support."
