Boardmasters, Cornwall’s renowned surf and music festival, has submitted its licensing application for the 2026 edition to Cornwall Council.

The application does not request any increase in capacity, changes to the festival footprint, or alterations to existing hours or licensable activities.

Next year's event is set to host 53,000 ticket holders and 5,000 performers and staff daily, adhering to its established site layout and capacity limits.

Organisers stated that the planned adjustments are limited and aim to support the festival’s long-term development while respecting the local community.

Changes include updates to noise controls with safeguards to prevent off-site disturbances. The festival is also requesting permission for the Main Stage to run until 11pm on Thursdays, starting from 2027.

The consultation process is scheduled to begin on 12th January 2026, with residents and stakeholders able to view the full application via Cornwall Council’s website.

A community meeting is set to take place at Boardmasters Beach Bar at 6pm on 14th January, providing an opportunity for questions and feedback.

Boardmasters has emphasised its commitment to working collaboratively with Cornwall Council and local businesses, ensuring the event’s cultural and economic benefits are managed responsibly.

Since 2017, its Boardmasters Foundation has supported hundreds of local initiatives, raising over £700,000.

This year’s festival will be held at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach from 5th to 9th August 2026.
