It's October and Gemma has started her Christmas Shopping!
Gethin and Dave are annoyed at her organisational skills
Last updated 22nd Oct 2018
The days are getting colder, it’s darker earlier and it’s probably not worth the hassle clinging on to any last chances of warm weather. It’s fair to say winter is definitely coming.
Gemma Atkinson annoyed fellow presenters Gethin Jones and Dave Vitty on the Hits Radio Breakfast show the other morning when she admitted she’s started her Christmas shopping even though it’s only October. “Gemma, is about to annoy all of you.” Gethin proclaimed on air, “Why are you talking about Christmas?”
It’s only October surely that is way too soon to be thinking about Christmas, we still need to get through eating a load of sweets and feeling sick at Halloween. Then we will be watching amazing firework displays with sparklers in our hands on Bonfire Night before we start to think about the Festive Season.
Gemma, defended herself expressing: “I’ve got busy weeks and weekends up until mid-December… so because of that I need to start my Christmas shopping this week.”
One listener agreed with Gemma’s playing it safe and organised method on Twitter saying: “Did most of mine this weekend (cards included) only the other half to buy for now.”
Whereas others seemed to embrace the challenge of last minute Christmas shopping with another commenting: “why be organised when you can rush around last minute.”
It looks like Gemma may be the sensible one on the breakfast team as Dave announced: “you do your Christmas shopping in December!”
If you’re like Gemma and buy all your presents early, then you’re bound to have a less stressful time hunting down the perfect presents for your family and friends. However, we’re sure many of us choose the last minute approach like Gethin and Dave and can be seen red faced running around the shops on Christmas Eve. The savviest of you might choose online shopping, swerving the manic streets and packed shops to browse at your leisure, while listening to Hits Radio with a cup of tea.
However you decided to do your Christmas shopping make sure it’s a fun and merry one, but please no socks… we have plenty!
