Peterborough Cat Rescue say they're struggling with too many cats needing homes
It's after they rehomed over 900 cats last year
The Peterborough Cat Rescue are urging people to get their cats neutered.
It's as the charity say they're struggling with the amount of cats needing rehoming.
They rehomed over 900 cats last year.
However, they are now having to turn some cats away due to space.
'They're breeding out of control, and there are not enough homes for them'
Daphne Wilson from the charity said:
"There are too many cats, and people don't get them neutered, so it's just the sheer volume of cats coming into rescues that rescues can't cope with."
"They're breeding out of control, and there are not enough homes for them; that's the problem."
"People need to have them neutered to stop all the unsolicited litters being born."
"We need to cut down on the population for a good few years to bring the population under control so we can find homes for them."
The charity is urging the public to consider adopting from a rescue if they want a cat rather than getting one from a breeder to help free up space for more cats for them to help.
