A man caught driving more than three times over the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads after being spotted swerving dangerously in Cambridgeshire.

Remigijus Gadliauskas, 43, was seen by police on 21 April driving slowly along Chain Causeway towards Earith—a 60mph road—while veering into the opposite lane with his full beams on.

He was pulled over by officers and gave a roadside breath test reading of 123 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Gadliauskas, of Victoria Place, Sutton near Ely, pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 22 May.

He was disqualified from driving for 17 months and fined £1,000.
