A woman has died in flat fire in Southmead
Emergency services were called to the scene before 5am this morning.
Shortly before 5am this morning Avon and Somerset Police received a call from the fire service seeking support with the incident at Lakewood Road, Southmead.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although the formal identification process has yet to be completed, the family of the woman believed to have died have been told.
Avon and Somerset Police say their thoughts are with the woman's family at this time.
Enquiries will be carried out.
