Ten more arrests in connection with ram raid on Israeli weapons firm in South Gloucestershire

A young man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of a terrorism offence, in connection with an attack on the offices of an Israeli weapons company in South Gloucestershire.

The incident on Tuesday 6th August saw a group of people force their way into a building for Elbit Systems UK causing extensive damage. Several employees of the company and two police officers who responded, were assaulted.

The 23-year-old from Bristol is among 10 people arrested from London, Liverpool and Manchester among other places, on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism, contrary to section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

At the time of the incident the protest group Palestine Action, claimed responsibility.

Back in August a further 10 people were charged with offences linked to the incident including criminal damage and violent disorder, with all 10 due to stand trial in November next year.
